On this spectacular sun splashed morning, the landscape was silent and still. The fragrant smell of Autumn filled the air as I walked along the Lower Loop trail a few miles beyond the town limits of Crested Butte Colorado. I am always keenly aware of the fleeting nature of this time of year as it stands in sharp contrast to the long winter season whose approach now draws nearer with each passing day. I savor the day, urging my senses to embrace the moment.
