Oil on Canvas Panel, 14” x 11”

Walking along the valley floor below the towering face of Crested Butte Mountain, I followed a small rivulet that quietly branched off from the fast flowing waters of the Slate River. So often I find that one need only stray but a few paces off the beaten path to discover hidden treasures of beauty and wonder. Here, a profusion of purple flowers playfully follows a ribbon of slow moving water as it disappears into the shadow of a thicket.
