Rubber Duckie Race- During the first weekend of the month of August the town of Crested Butte Colorado plays host to a wonderful arts festival. The main street is closed and artists from all over the country come to display their work. It is during this time that the town conducts its annual Rubber Duckie Race. A raffle by design, the race consists of hundreds of numbered rubber ducks that are dumped into the Coal Creek.  Residents and tourists participate by purchasing a rubber duck and following the race through town to a designated finish line. Prizes are awarded to the ducks that finish first, second and third.
Painting is a process of color theory and drawing techniques. Most people do not realize that good drawing skills easily translate into good painting skills. Oil painting is a very forgiving medium. Because it takes a long time to dry, if a mistake is made, the stretched canvas can be re-worked or completely wiped clean over the course of many weeks.
