| View from Rialto (Italy)- Believe it or not, one of the best things I ever did while in Venice was to get completely lost. I recall the moment when I first realized that I had no idea where I was. My initial response was one of panic. But once I reasoned that I would not be lost forever, I was able to relax and actually enjoy myself. I stumbled across many lesser-known sights that I’m certain don’t exist on any map. When I finally regained my bearings, I ended up in Rialto. The weight of the thin white drawing paper allowed for the inks to bleed a little for each drawing. The effect provides a soft look to the artwork. Yet, not all of the lines are softened by this effect. Thus, the play between sharp, crisp lines and soft, flowing lines of each drawing provides the viewer with a complex image that is founded in the fundamental elements of drawing. | ||
