Reflections-This painting was a gathering of three focal points: The first piece of intrigue was the old weathered buildings that characterize the alleys of Crested Butte. Second, I found it hard not to be moved by the mountain looming in the background after which the town was named. And third, the two puddles in the road playfully casting reflections seemed lighten the overall mood of the piece.
Oil paints, brushes, stretched canvas, turpentine and an easel are the tools of my trade. A palette knife is used to mix the colors on a palette, but the knife can also be used to apply the oil paints directly to the stretched canvas.
