A new day comes into full bloom during this spectacular Autumn morning in the Gunnison Valley. A crescendo of light, heat and color burst upon the landscape as I follow the Lower Loop trail along the Slate River. Though the rising sun still casts bands of heat across the valley floor, leaves have already begun to yellow summoning the approach of another long winter in Rocky Mountains of Colorado.
