| Portrait of a Revelation II (Diptych: see Portrait of a Revelation I)- I believe the human experience transcends the physical world. The elements of imagination, reason and faith are just a few examples of what I refer to as the spiritual realm of the human condition. This drawing and its companion piece are an exploration of what defines the human body and the human spirit. Pastels often provide the artist with a wide range of color and texture. The medium can be applied by laying the pastel stick flat to lay down large areas of color, or the point of the pastel stick can be used to create a vast array of line types. Once applied the pastel can be smeared, scratched and blended using hands, fingers, brushes or just about anything that can move the medium across the paper. | ||
