Paradise Divide- Facing west, one finds a spectacular vista of mountains known simply as Paradise Divide. These peaks turn white after the initial snowfalls of the winter season and often remain snowcapped well into the month of June. I once lived in a tent for an entire summer just beyond the yellow and orange brush shown in this painting.
Oil painting on canvas is process of creating that requires a basic understanding of color theory and painting techniques. I approach each painting with a strong desire to first lay down a strong composition. I then use the flexible application qualities of oil paints to layer my colors using a combination of large and small brushstrokes.
