Oil on Panel, 16” x 20”

You might think the sky in this painting is pure imagination, but you’d be quite mistaken. The tear drop clouds and dramatic light are from a sky seen during a family trip to Fort Collins Colorado back in 2019. I filed away a half dozen photographs of the eerie swirls of clouds and light, knowing that one day, the right painting would present itself. Just this past year, after a day trip to Olathe Colorado with my youngest son (seen standing in the distance), I recalled the unusual sky and elected to pair it with the wide open spaces of this playful pumpkin patch.
