View from Hrad (Czechoslovakia)- The city of Prague is essentially divided into two distinct halves by a bridge called The Karlov Most. I spent most of my time in the half that is commonly referred to as “The Old City”. The view shown in this drawing is from the Prazsky Hrad, a beautiful and sprawling castle that occupies the highest point in the entire city.
Pen and Ink drawings often define the fundamental elements of drawing. Each of these drawings was rendered with a two step process. First, an earth tone colored ink was used to quickly render the images. Next, dark black lines were layered on top. The goal of the process was to capture the moment through the basics of line, form, depth and perspective.
