| Dusty Road- A lovely summer day and a leisurely stroll down one of Crested Butte's many historic alleys provided me with some very exciting subject matter for this painting. A strong wind seemed to be churning clouds upward from the horizon and kicking up dust from the dry dirt road. An appropriate studio space is a must for anyone who chooses to use oil paints. The oils that drive the pigments produce an odor that requires proper ventilation. Oil paints are difficult if not impossible to wash out of most fabrics, so it is imperative that the room where the painting process is to occur be suitable for the splattering, dripping and accidental spilling of paint.
