Venice Church
Church (Italy)- I traveled by train to Venice. At one point, the tracks left the security of dry land and headed out across the water on a slightly elevated bed of stone and steel. When the train pulled into the station, I exchanged some money and stepped outside to investigate my surroundings. This domed church was the first thing I saw.
The combination of black ink with sepia toned ink against white drawing paper has created a layering effect that I believe strengthens the elements of line, form, depth and texture. There is also the element of contrast between light and dark, and soft and hard that further provides depth to each drawing.
