The Lupine trail is a narrow single track just a few miles outside my home town of Crested Butte Colorado that winds its way along the fertile Slate River Valley. On this spectacular summer day, I found myself deep in the middle of a complete sensory overload! Wildflowers seemed to pour down the mountainsides like dazzling waterfalls of vibrant color. In the distance, dramatic peaks reached upward toward a parade of fast moving clouds that seemed to dance across a brilliant blue sky.
