| Venice Canal (Italy)- Motorized vehicles are prohibited in Venice. People either walk, ride their bikes, or float a boat through the canals. It is difficult to visit Venice and not notice the way it sounds- Foot steps on cobble stone, murmuring voices and the movement of water seem to dominate the audible backdrop of a city steeped in the echoes of time. The browns and grays of the first layer of my pen and ink drawings serves as a vehicle for creating a complex combination of various line types and ranges of depth. The finishing black lines define the forms of each drawing while solidifying the artistic element of composition. | ||
