Near the little mountain town of Crested Butte Colorado and a mile or two before descending into the East River Valley along the Brush Creek Road, there lies a small ranch populated by a charming collection of time tested, weathered shacks that have clearly endured countless years of Colorado’s harsh winter weather. But on this fine summer’s day, a blanket of wildflowers has transformed the landscape into a shimmering kaleidoscope of color, while in the distance, the skyward peak of Whetstone Mountain gathers warm light from the afternoon sun.
